Choose your appointmentBlackheads, clogged pores and congested skin are the most common reasons Upper East Side clients book a facial with us. ROW 89 Aesthetics is on the second floor of 219A East 89th Street, between Second and Third Avenues, a short walk from Yorkville, Carnegie Hill and Lenox Hill and about five minutes from the Q at 86th Street.
Two pore facials are on the menu, both 60 minutes: the Advanced Pore Cleansing Facial ($89) and the Deep Pore Cleansing Facial ($119). A pore vacuuming add-on ($59) can be added to either.
What happens during the facial
- Skin check and cleanse. Your esthetician looks at your skin and asks about products and recent treatments.
- Steam and exfoliation. Warmth softens the skin so pores are easier to clear.
- Extractions. Blackheads and clogged pores are cleared by hand, with care around sensitive areas.
- Mask and finish. A pore-tightening mask calms the skin, followed by serum, moisturizer and sunscreen.

Deep pore facial questions
What is a deep pore cleansing facial?
A facial focused on congested skin: cleansing, steam, exfoliation, extractions of blackheads and clogged pores, then a mask to calm the skin and tighten the look of pores.
Deep Pore Cleansing ($119) or Advanced Pore Cleansing ($89)?
Both are 60 minutes. The Advanced Pore Cleansing Facial covers cleansing and extractions for congestion and blackheads; the Deep Pore Cleansing Facial goes further in the same time. If you are unsure, book the Advanced and ask your esthetician at the visit.
Will my skin be red afterward?
Some redness where extractions were done is common and usually settles within hours to a day. Plan the facial a few days before an event rather than the same day.
Is it normal to break out after a facial?
A few small breakouts in the days after extractions can happen as congestion clears. Read more in our article on purging after a facial.
How often should I book?
Many clients with congested skin come every four to six weeks. Members save 50% on facials with the ROW 89 membership.
Can I get a deep pore facial with active acne?
Tell your esthetician about active breakouts. For ongoing acne, the Clear Skin Acne Program starts with a free 15-minute consult with Rocio Romero PA-C.
